Finding great keto snacks can sometimes be frustrating. With so much focus on fresh vegetables, meat, and separation from most pre-prepared snacks, trying to figure out what to eat on the run can leave you scratching your head.
No worries. Here at Vitamins and Vodka, we’re busy Mom’s and Professionals too, who are usually at a dead run while still trying to crush our Keto Lifestyles (without crushing our sanity too).
This list is 100% tried and true. When you open my cupboards, peek in my purse, or open my suitcase, these are the items which come pouring out.
Together, they’ve helped me drop just shy of 30 lbs in the last year, but most of all, I don’t miss any of their carb-laden doppelgangers.
The fact that you can get 100% of them on Amazon (yes, even ice cream). Well…that just makes it that much easier. 🙂
Sweets:
I still can’t believe how good these taste every time I have them. I have a pretty finicky taste for any artificial sweetener, and I 100% guarantee you that even the pickiest person cannot tell a difference. I don’t know how they do it, I just know it’s saved my diet (and my budget!) pretty much every time we’ve gone to the movies!
I am NOT a pork rinds person. Ok…I wasn’t, until I found Epic. Epic is a very high quality brand out of Austin, TX, who makes a point to raise clean, sustainably produced products that taste ahhhhmazzzing. This flavor melts in your mouth, and is something I often have to hide from my 8 year old.
If you buy nothing else on this list, I would hope you try these. They are buttery, nutty, chocolatey, soft…mmmm. I honestly don’t know where to begin. The first time I popped one in my mouth, I knew I had a hope of surviving keto. Best part? They are made with collagen, which gives you beautiful hair and nails!
(Pro tip: Unfortunately, all the other flavors I’ve tried are so-so, but this one I promise is heavenly!)
- Keto Ice Cream
In case your mind hasn’t been blown enough these days, they now sell Ice Cream on Amazon.
Oh yeah, and not just “ice cream”, amazing keto ice cream. (And for essentially the same price you pay in the store + free shipping!)
Rebel and Enlightened are my two favorite brands, and you’d be hard pressed to beat Rebel’s 5-8 net carbs per PINT (yes, you read that correctly)
The Rebel Maverick Case: One pint each of
Cookies & Cream
Salted Caramel
Black Raspberry
Triple Chocolate
Cherry Chip
Coconut Almond Swirl
Peanut Butter Fudge
Vanilla

My Mom has been a zealous health freak touting the benefits of xylitol since the late 90’s, but when she encouraged me to try this gum, I’ve never looked back. Xylitol naturally cleans your teeth, is sugar free, and tastes amazing. This is another one that regularly gets hidden from the family (including husband!).
In recipes these are great (no doubt about it!), but I’ve found lately I enjoy them a la carte, in other ways. One of my favorites is to keep a stash of them in my purse, and melt them in my mouth while I drink my Cherry Hint. It’s like desert in your mouth, yum!
Just like their other products, Lily’s consistently provides great chocolate alternatives. I really like this one, although their dark chocolate varieties are great, too!
These were one of the most unexpected keto finds for me. I first stumbled upon them in Trader Joe’s, where you can get strawberry, blueberry, or raspberry (at least for keto options) freeze dried fruit. Enlightened, I brought them home and began experimenting with them. My most favorite option is to make “trail mix”, which consists of freeze dried strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, as well as dried coconut (unsweet!), and a handful of Lily’s Chocolate chips. If you really want to take it over the top, add one (or a few!) of your favorite nuts! YUM!
Drinks:
Most great inventions are born from necessity, and the day I discovered this combination I NEEDED it. While sitting on the tarmac in the back of an airplane trying to commute to a very important business meeting (that was unfortunately starting without me), I grabbed my chocolate chips and tried to use a little Lily’s therapy to ease my stress. In between chocolate sessions, I would take a sip of my Cherry Hint….and voila! I had dessert in my mouth!
I have yet to find a Hint flavor I don’t like, but I do definitely recommend trying my trick with Cherry!
I’ve been intermittent fasting since January of 2019, and I have to say, sometimes it gets really, really, BORING.
Not to mention, even my Starbucks rotations for afternoon pick me ups sometimes just feel lame.
From this idea, I discovered flavored (but not sweetened!) tea! I love this three pack, but Glazed Lemon Loaf is definitely the one that was so good I wanted to cry, and Butterscotch Blondie is a mean second.
Brew these hot or iced, and add a little heavy cream and stevia for the perfect treat.
As mentioned above, having your own dropper of stevia (flavored or unflavored) can be really helpful! I pop it in my Starbucks Passion Iced Tea, my Tazo home brews, and (brace yourself!) my Coconut LaCroix (yummmm!!!). They also work great for concocting your own homemade alcoholic beverages that are more keto friendly!
I’m ok on seltzer water (I will drink it occasionally), but I am REALLY into Coconut LaCroix. Other flavors, other brands….eh. But this *exact* flavor is AWESOME! If you want to make it extra fun, add a few drops of stevia (and maybe some rum?).
These are pretty new on the market, and if you haven’t tried them, I highly recommend them! Blackberry Hibiscus is my absolute favorite (and backs 10g of protein!), but this one is great too!
I don’t personally drink this, but Hubby can’t live without them. As an airline pilot, he carries his entire life on the road, and that includes killer (super healthy!) coffee!

Salty Snacks:
Ask any member in my family of 4 which flavor is their favorite, and you’ll get 4 different answers. I will say, for the savory flavors, we’ve never struck out with BBQ or Salt and Pepper. Yum!
Yes, more pork rinds. It’s going to sound weird, but to us, the different brands and flavors feel as diverse as grapes and strawberries. They are ALL pork rinds, yes. But I definitely encourage the different flavors, because they all have a little something different, and this flavor is a surefire winner! (FYI, they say “chili”, but they aren’t terribly spicy).
Moon Cheese is up and coming, and with 5 gorgeous flavors, you will never be bored (or hungry!) Gouda and Cheddar make me happy beyond words, but I encourage you to try them all for yourself!
Whisps are another trend that are hard to miss (and for good reason!). Pepperjack is my favorite, but they are all worth a try!
I used to think I didn’t like olives. In fact, I didn’t think it, I KNEW it.
That was, until United Airlines began their snack boxes, and out of total hunger and desperation I began collecting these little pouches from my “Tapas” Box.
One day I was hungry enough to tear one open, and….well, that was it for me! I’m an olive girl now, and Rosemary and Chilli flavored Mario are by far the best!
These can be a bit on the pricey side for how much they fill you up, but they are GOOD. (SO good). We’ve never tried the Artichoke or Green Bean flavors because we can never get past Asparagus, and to be honest, I finally had to hide them from my 8 year old and hubby, because we were going through them like wildfire!
My only complaint is I wish I could get them in a jar, because they really satisfy!
Nuts are an obvious keto pick, but they are even better when you have them already portioned out for on the go.
This pack offers great variety, and ensures you are never without a healthy keto snack.
These babies are dense! Let me tell, ya! Hubs and I joke it takes us 10 minutes just to get through one (not really, but we do enjoy taking small nibbles and savoring them, as they are also very rich). Epic is a strong brand with a clean reputation (which is more than a lot of jerky companies can say), and we have found these follow us everywhere and stay fresh without a second thought. Enjoy!
My cousin told me a few years ago that her kids “love” seaweed.
Ok….
I was pretty sure that wasn’t the case for my kids (and probably not for me, either), no matter how much of a health nut I am.
Then keto rolled in….and I found myself staring at the crackers and chips each week wondering what the heck was left to enjoy that wasn’t pork rinds (yes, I love them, but I get sick of them too!)
I decided if I was going to try seaweed, I’d at least try wasabi, and I hadn’t even made it out of the parking lot before I realized I was going to need more.
If you’re a sushi fan, these are SO satisfying. Some brands are more spicy than others, but so far they are all pretty great!
I almost always have these on me (they feel so decadent and satisfying to me!), but I have also noticed they are a GREAT resource when I’m on the road, and even the kids will happily slurp one down while we’re out and about!
Justin’s is a great brand that has lasted the test of time, but be sure to get only the flavors that are unsweetened if you’re on keto!
On- The-Go Must Haves
The first time I cruised past these in Costco I stopped and took a second take: They didn’t look keto. They looked…well, amazing!
Since that day, I’ve never been able to find them in Costco, but I DO find them on Amazon.
These are nutty, coconutty, and just the right bit of sweet.
I LOVE to crumble them with coconut milk and fresh raspberries (I think I’m drooling a little), but when I’m on the road I take them with individual servings of unsweet almond milk and freeze dried raspberries. They make an AWESOME (and very inexpensive!) snack or breakfast!
These are great for adding to coffee, making collagen drinks on the road, and for mixing with Ratio Toasted Almond Bars (above). They are handy and shelf stable, ensuring you’re never without options!
At Home in My Cupboards
We all know the everything bagel seasoning trend (explosion!), but even if you aren’t able to get to Trader Joe’s, Amazon has you covered! Sprinkle on eggs, use it in cream cheese to make dip for cucumbers, or sprinkle it straight on veggies. It’s a favorite for a reason!
These are great for coffee, smoothies, and anything else on the road. If you are a loyal collagen drinker (or just know you want to be!), this is a great way to incorporate it into your diet without stressing about having it on hand when you need it!
Giving up carbs means giving up…well, carbs (like pasta! sob!). These help take panic out of losing your weekly spaghetti rotation, and they taste great in chicken noodle soup, too!
Being a bit of a health nut, Summer Sausage is something we eat sparingly. However, I have to say that sometimes it really just tastes SO decadent.
Usually making an appearance in our charcuterie board during happy hours, it tastes great with a little dijon mustard!
Ok, ok, I’m sure this item won’t make me very popular, but…hear me out 🙂
While Popcorn isn’t exactly “strictly” keto, it IS a reasonable option if you are craving genuine carbs (or just need an SOS snack that’s easy and satisfying).
In moderation (like a 2.5 cup serving in each of these bags) has only 9 grams of net carbs.
When consumed away from super high fat goodies, it should be relatively safe.
I’ve had good luck experimenting with it once I’m on the maintenance level of keto, and have even found it is sometimes helpful for carb cycling to amp my metabolism again.
I will eventually get to this subject more when I finish my post “How I Cheated on Keto and Totally Got Away With It”, but until it’s done, I will tell you, I made great strides with this little trick right here.
